Organising Your Dream Wedding Cake.

Choosing your wedding cake can be hard work. Will it be chocolate or banana? You quite liked the fruit cake? Of all the pleasures that accompany organising your wedding, ordering your cake must be one of the most truly indulgent. But it's easy to become bewildered by choices and it can be surprisingly difficul to work out exactly what you want.

You have started in the right place. Feast your eyes over the following cakes and ideas and you will soon work out where your personal tastes lie. The following are a few helpful hints to get you started:

1. Once you have set the date of your wedding, make sure you have approximate guest numbers -The number of guests influences how much cake you need .

2. Decide what role your cake will play on the day. Traditionally guests are given a small slice of cake, served with coffee or to take home. However, serving the cake as dessert is now a popular alternative. You'll pay more for a larger cake, but counter costs by skipping the dessert course.

3.For inspiration flick through magazines for ideas, or come and look through our extensive range of cake magazines and portfolio.

Consider the following when deciding on your cake style:
Choosing a wedding cake can be daunting for brides, but inspiration for cake colours and styles is easy to find if you look through bridal magazines. Cut out the pictures you like, to bring along to your first consultation, as well as swatches of your dress fabric and samples of your flowers so we have an idea of the theme for your cake, flowers and dress. For a contemporary cake style, consider different tier shapes.

Colour: While white is still hot, cream, gold and soft pastels are also popular options. Your cake's colours and trimmings should complement the bridal party and wedding theme.

Detail: If your dress is detailed with embroidery or beading talk to us about recreating a similar design on your cake.

Flavours: Brides no longer strictly adhere to traditional fruitcake for their wedding cake. They are choosing tasty alternatives that include moist chocolate, which is the undisputed wedding cake favourite, white chocolate, banana, carrot and orange or lemon madeira cake. We also offer divine truffle fillings such as chocolate, hazelnut and white chocolate
